Manu O Kū Rescue Tips
While waiting for assistance, follow these important safety tips:
- Stay nearby when possible to help protect the bird from predators
- Do not give the bird food or water
- If a chick cannot safely remain on the ground, place it as high as possible near where it was found
- Make sure rescue volunteers can easily locate the bird
- Adult Manu O Kū found on the ground are often injured
- Chicks resting alone in trees are usually normal and should not be disturbed
