Exotic Species - Pet Services
Have an unusual pet?
AAHA vet Dr. Chang has specialized expertise in the care of rare and exotic animals, including (but not limited to) the following:
Small animals (rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, etc.)
Fish (fresh and marine)
Birds (all types)
Reptiles (lizards, turtles, etc.)
Amphibians (salamanders, frogs, etc.)
We offer the following services for exotic animals:
Ollie Sasaki the African Gray
We recommend seeing exotics at least once a year to update their wellness exam
We can perform bloodwork, gram stains, fecal tests, and cytology tests during these visits to make sure your pet is healthy and happy
We also accept all Hawaiian endemic/endangered wildlife for rehabilitation and release

Hawaiian Coot ('Alae Ke'oke'o)
Hawaiian Duck (Koloa)
Hawaiian Hawk ('Io)

White Turn (Fairy Turn)
Golden Plover (Kolea)
All other wildlife may be dropped off at the Hawaiian Humane Society

Dr. Chang takes a look at one of their newest patients -- a Nene Goose. Apparently, this goose is quite the lover. He injured his wing when competing with another male for a female.
